Striped Horn and Hardwood Toggle Buttons, set of 5
Toggle buttons have been popular since the Middle Ages. They are big enough for manipulation with fingers, one pointed end helps with buttoning. The toggle button connection is so stable that a spontaneous unbuttoning is almost impossible. These buttons are made by hand from hard wood and horn, creating an attractive stripe pattern. The surface of each button is individually polished in the hand. Two holes are traditionally drilled for sewing onto the cloth in each toggle button. More information...

The horn buttons are mechanically very durable. They can be used not only for clothes, but also for shoes, leather accessories, tents and so on. The natural horn material is acceptable for every historical period. The use is therefore universal, including the present.

Made from 100% ethically sourced ox horn and oak wood base. 0% leak locked with FDA approved food-safe sealant suitable for your cool to lukewarm liquids up to 20% alcohol content. Avoid dishwasher and hot liquids. Hand-wash before use. For a longer life span treat with bees’ wax after each use. Please note this is a natural product and this does decay with time and cracks may come.
