Ancient armour

The term "ancient armour" mainly refers to Greek and Roman armour. The Greek armour consisted of metal armour, greaves and a helmet. Some of the breastplates had leather "fringes" hung underneath to provide additional protection. An important part of the whole armour was also a big round shield (hoplon), which not only protected the warrior himself, but in formations also the right side of the fellow warrior on the left.
