Cabaset with Facial Plate Sanguesa

It was a logical evolution to include face protection in the helmet. There are several examples of artistic representations of conical skull helmets with facial plates. This one is based on the frescoaes for the church Romanesque portico of the Santa Maria de lo Real, in Sangüesa (Navarre, 44.5 kilometers from Pamplona). In the exterior archivolt can be seen medieval works including two men at arms. One of them is wearing a cabasset like this with a chhek-wide-visor.
