The product is manufactured exclusively to your measurements, guaranteeing a bespoke fit that follows your body proportions (approx. 20–24 inches / 50–60 cm length depending on build) and does not hinder your movement when handling a sword or a longbow.

This garment is designed for Living History events, historical fencing (HEMA), or high-end LARPs. By using 100% natural linen without synthetic padding, the doublet excels at wicking away sweat and is highly resistant to wear and tear.

During the 14th and 15th centuries, gambesons were not only the province of heavy men-at-arms. Lighter variants, such as this 5-layer version, were worn by archers and light mercenaries for whom speed and agility were paramount. Raw linen was the essential material in Europe for creating durable military attire. An interesting fact is that linen possesses natural antiseptic properties, which was an invaluable benefit in the field conditions of medieval camps, helping to prevent infections from abrasions caused by wearing heavy harness.

• Washing: Hand wash only in lukewarm water with a gentle detergent.
• Drying: Dry flat on a towel, away from direct heat sources and sunlight.
• Ironing: Linen can be ironed at a high temperature, preferably while damp.

This version of the gambeson (5 layers) provides only basic passive protection. It is not intended for full-contact combat (Buhurt) without additional armour components. Please note that other clothing items and accessories shown in the photographs (such as trousers or belts) are not included in the delivery. For increased comfort and protection, we recommend wearing a linen shirt beneath the gambeson.
