Viking belt with a bronze buckle
The Viking belt with a bronze buckle is a replica of a Viking belt that was in use on the Gotland Island circa in the 10th century. The robust and simply decorated buckle is cast in the traditional manner using the so-called lost wax technology. The belt's strap itself is made of up to 4 mm thick smooth cowhide. A decorative groove is engraved along its edges. The buckle is attached onto the belt's strap with flaxy coloured thread (hand sewing).
