Hunting knives are used by hunters for various acts during hunting, such as the killing of game or next work with slaughtered game. Any solid knife is suitable for that purpose in fact. Many types of hunting knives have been developed for different purposes in the course of time.
Even though there are folding hunting knives, hunters prefer solid knives, because they are firmer, safer and easy-care. Length of the blade is from about 15 cm. The longest hunting knives can measure up to 70 cm.
Hunting knives are most commonly used to open the slaughtered game and remove their guts. This knife has to serve for many operations (e.g. the killing of wounded game), because hunter usually has only one knife with him. These knives are not suitable for skinning and cutting up the meat. Special butcher knives are suitable for that.
