Falchion Scabbard

Our Falchion Scabbard is composed of a scabbard made of up to 3 mm thick smooth cowhide and of a belt, which is made of up to 4 mm thick cowhide. Buckles are made of iron and hand forged. Long-term high firmness is guaranteed. The scabbard is sewn together in the central part with a leather strip.

The Falchion Scabbard is made according to the outline of your falchion blade. You can draw the blade outline on a long sheet of paper and send it to us. The maximum belt length is 150 cm. At your request we can produce a belts. When ordering this product, please specify your waist periemeter. The scabbards can be made in several coulours, see the choice of colour above.

Please note: This product is made by hand from genuine leather. This is a purely natural material. Minor differences in the colour and surface texture are its natural characteristics. These small imperfections do not decrease the value of the product. Each piece is to some extent an original.

What is the difference between industrially rolled and hand-forged blades?

In the case of hand-forged blades, our blacksmith takes the already rolled spring steel and forges it by hand on the anvil or under the drop hammer. The steel gets more solid (denser) by forging. In the case of industrially rolled spring steel blades, the sheets of steel plate is cut to strips under drop snips, then ground or milled and immediately forged into the annealing furnace and oil-quenched. The properties of both kinds of steels are not very different, since industrial rolling is already very good! On forged blades are usually blacksmith marks, which give them an authentic and unique look.
