This bag comes from Scandinavia. It dates back to the 11th century. The bag is made of 2-3 mm thick smooth cowhide. It is worn suspended from the belt the width of which may be up to 3.5 cm. The belt is threaded under the upper part of the bag's flap. The flap is decorated on the edge with a period relief that is typical for the region in question. The Scandinavian bag Toste is closed with a leather strap that passes through the entire flap. The end of the closing strap is protected with a bone tip which is decorated according to preserved motifs.
If you wish a version with a colour different from the photo please specify this in your order. However take into account that due to use of natural materials and mordants the colour hues of your bag may slightly differ from the hues shown in the photo.
Please note: This product is made by hand from genuine leather. This is a purely natural material. Minor differences in the colour and surface texture are its natural characteristics. These small imperfections do not decrease the value of the product. Each piece is to some extent an original.
In the case of hand-forged blade our blacksmith takes the already rolled spring steel and forges it with hand on the anvil or under the monkey (drop hammer). By forging becomes the steel more compacted (denser). Industrially rolled spring steel blades are made by cutting steel plate into strips under drop shears. Then they are ground or milled/grooved and without further forging directly put into the annealing furnace and hardened in oil bath. The qualities of both kinds of blades do not differ from each other much since the industrial rolling is already very good. On forged blades usually have forge traces, which give them an authentic and unique look.
