The Viking Celtic model for the Viking belt with a beautifully decorated buckle dates back to the 8th century. The belt is made of up to 4 mm thick oxhide. The decorated buckle is made using the casting technique according to the document from the period concerned. Composite material is used for this type of buckle.
The buckle is hand sewn onto the belt's strap with flaxy thread. A simple groove running along the entire circumference of the beltcorresponds to sources from the period concerned. The belt's width is 3.5cm. Besides the colour shown in the picture the Viking belt with a beautifully decorated buckle is available in other colours: see the choice of colour. You can also choose the belt's length. And if you state your waist measure in the order, holes will be precisely cut in the belt so that the belt fits you well.
Please note: This product is made by hand from genuine leather. This is a purely natural material. Minor differences in the colour and surface texture are its natural characteristics. These small imperfections do not decrease the value of the product. Each piece is to some extent an original.
In the case of hand-forged blade our blacksmith takes the already rolled spring steel and forges it with hand on the anvil or under the monkey (drop hammer). By forging becomes the steel more compacted (denser). Industrially rolled spring steel blades are made by cutting steel plate into strips under drop shears. Then they are ground or milled/grooved and without further forging directly put into the annealing furnace and hardened in oil bath. The qualities of both kinds of blades do not differ from each other much since the industrial rolling is already very good. On forged blades usually have forge traces, which give them an authentic and unique look.
