This bag was modelled on a specimen from the High Gothic period. It was especially popular with French merchants and fair sellers who needed to carry large sums of money on them in order to operate their business. The flap is decorated in an unobtrusive manner with the ornament of letter B that runs around its entire edge. The belt pouch with ornaments is closed via a cast buckle.
It is made of 2.5 - 3 mm thick cowhide. It is worn suspended on the belt the width of which may be up to 5 cm. Besides the colour shown in the picture the bag is available in other colours: see the choice of colour.
Please note: This product is made by hand from genuine leather. This is a purely natural material. Minor differences in the colour and surface texture are its natural characteristics. These small imperfections do not decrease the value of the product. Each piece is to some extent an original.
In the case of hand-forged blades, our blacksmith takes the already rolled spring steel and forges it by hand on the anvil or under the drop hammer. The steel gets more solid (denser) by forging. In the case of industrially rolled spring steel blades, the sheets of steel plate is cut to strips under drop snips, then ground or milled and immediately forged into the annealing furnace and oil-quenched. The properties of both kinds of steels are not very different, since industrial rolling is already very good! On forged blades are usually blacksmith marks, which give them an authentic and unique look.
